Amendments module: Full visibility into how your documentary credits evolve


Amendments might be one of the least glamorous parts of trade finance operations, and one of the most time-consuming. When the terms of a documentary credit change, the ripple effect across your workflow is immediate. Documents need to be re-examined against the updated terms. Compliance and AML checks need to be rerun. Red flags that were clear under the original terms might now be triggered, or the reverse.


And it's not a one-off event. A single letter of credit can go through several rounds of amendments before a transaction completes. Each time, your operations team has to piece together what changed, when, and what that means for the examination and compliance work already done.

  • Navigation to related tools. From any amendment view, you can jump directly to AI Insights, the Annotation Tool, or the investigation page for a specific field. If a field was amended, you can see how that change affected the extraction and examination results without leaving the workflow.

  • Search and filters. Across the full amendment history, you can search for specific fields or filter by amendment date to navigate quickly to the information you need. When a credit has been amended multiple times, this saves significant time compared to scrolling through the full history manually.

When we ask users what makes the amendments module valuable in their day-to-day work, two things come up consistently.


The first is visibility. When a credit has been amended several times, examiners often need to understand what the terms looked like at a specific point in time, whether to check why a result changed after the latest amendment, to revisit terms that applied when a document was originally presented, or simply for audit purposes. Without a clear timeline, that means going back through messages and piecing it together manually.
